What Is Jiu-Jitsu?
Jiu-jitsu is a grappling-based martial art that teaches students how to use leverage, positioning, and technique instead of relying only on size or strength.
For teens, it is an incredible way to build confidence, body awareness, problem-solving skills, discipline, and comfort in challenging situations — all while getting active and learning something practical.
Why This Camp Is Perfect for Beginners
Starting something new can feel intimidating, especially for teens. That is exactly why this camp is built for true beginners.
Students will be introduced to jiu-jitsu step by step in a friendly environment where they can learn at their own pace, ask questions, make mistakes, and gain confidence each day.
No previous martial arts experience is required, and no equipment is needed to get started.
What Your Teen Will Learn
During the 5-day camp, students will be introduced to the basics of jiu-jitsu in a way that is safe, structured, and easy to follow.
They will learn:
How to move safely on the mats
Basic positions and escapes
How to stay calm under pressure
Introductory grappling skills
Respect, discipline, and training etiquette
How to work with a partner in a controlled environment
Confidence through learning and effort
The goal is not to overwhelm them. The goal is to give them a strong, positive first experience.
More Than Just Martial Arts
Jiu-jitsu teaches skills that go far beyond the mats.
Teens learn how to stay composed when something is difficult. They learn how to listen, focus, problem-solve, and keep trying when they do not get something right away.
For many teens, jiu-jitsu becomes a powerful outlet — a place to build confidence, make progress, and feel proud of what they are capable of.
A Safe, Supportive Environment
Our coaches understand that every teen walks in with a different personality, confidence level, and comfort zone.
Some are excited right away. Some are nervous. Some need a little time.
That is completely normal.
This camp is built to help teens feel welcome, supported, and encouraged while learning real jiu-jitsu fundamentals.
